Many of us learned during the isolating early days of Covid that not only is having community is essential to our mental health, but also how vital it is to find OUR community and OUR people. With an alarming increase in rates of anxiety and depression, many people began searching for mental health resources but discovered affirming practices were not only hard to find, but private practices were often cost prohibitive. With research emerging that group therapy can be just as effective as private counseling, while also reducing isolation and validating that others share their struggles, support groups seem to be an obvious place to turn. At MOSAIC, we have circles that will help you find your community and journey together on the path to healing.
The types of groups and the events we hold will vary, but what makes us unique is the blending of a lot of different treatment modalities and approaches. We are a progressive minded group therapy / social-emotional wellbeing class aiming to provide a safe and affirming place for you to build community through the incorporation of multiple therapeutic modalities into an educational curriculum. Short answer: We are a beautiful marriage between therapy and education. While our mosaic of classes and group sessions will vary from month to month, the following is the through line for everything we do:
***mental health education and guided discussions in topics such as Grief, Complex (C)-PTSD, Emotional Literacy, Reparenting ourselves while Parenting our kids, Self-Compassion, mindfulness, etc,
***using different therapeutic modalities, such as
IFS, PCT, ACT, CBT, DBT, etc,
*** and applying tools from a variety of treatment approaches, such as music therapy, play therapy, art therapy, and embodied practices for healing like breathwork and meditation.
